The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released CEN No. 04/2026 for recruitment to various posts of Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS).

A total of 3,993 vacancies have been announced across RRBs. The posts are in Pay Level 6 of the 7th CPC, with an initial pay of ₹35,400.

RRB has announced 3,993 vacancies for various Junior Engineer and Depot Material Superintendent posts across different Railway Recruitment Boards, Railway Zones and Production Units.

RRB JE Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, age limit and medical standards for the exact post selected. Required qualifications must be possessed on or before 13 September 2026. Candidates awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification should not apply.

Educational Qualification

The exact qualification varies by JE post and engineering discipline. In general, relevant posts require a three-year Diploma in Engineering in the prescribed discipline. Higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech are also acceptable in lieu of the three-year Diploma in the same discipline where specified.

For Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), a three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognised University/Institution is prescribed. Candidates should verify Annexure A before applying.

The basic age limit is 18 to 33 years as on 01 January 2027. Category-wise upper-age relaxation applies as prescribed in the notification.

RRB JE Salary 2026

RRB JE and DMS posts are placed in 7th CPC Pay Level 6 with an initial pay of ₹35,400 per month. Applicable Railway/Government allowances and benefits are additional as per rules.

Only candidates who attend the 1st Stage CBT are eligible for the prescribed examination-fee refund.
